Turkey

Larry was nice enough to bring up his gear to make us fried turkey. He seasoned it with a rub of pepper, sage, poultry seasoning, onion salt, and garlic powder. Deep fry in peanut oil for 41 minutes and we were treated to one delicious gobbler.
My mom also cooked a turkey breast the traditional way - turkey bag, in the oven, etc. She used the same rub-it was also tasty.
I could not decide which bird I liked best. Something about the slightly crisp oil coating on the fried version may have tipped the scale. We did decide that necks and giblets should not EVER be packaged with the turkeys. People who want to eat/use such parts should have to go to a special store to purchase them separately...but to each his/her own!

Deep fried turkey....so amazingly good. Although, kudos to both mom and Lar because they were both excellent.
